What Is the Young Talents Program?
YTP supports the next generation of resilience engineers by connecting promising graduate researchers with leading experts in the field. At the heart of the program is the bi-annual Young Talents Workshop, held alongside the REA Symposium.
In every workshop, selected Young Talents present their research, receive structured feedback and mentorship, and connect with a global network of peers and experts.
What Is the Young Talents Workshop?
A one-day workshop of REA’s Young Talents Program that brings together Master’s and Ph.D. students working in Resilience Engineering. Selected participants present their research and receive feedback from experienced researchers and experts — in a supportive setting to exchange ideas and connect with the wider RE community.
One Focused Day
A one-day workshop held on the first day of the REA Symposium, closed to selected Young Talents and invited RE experts.
Present Your Research
Each participant presents their research project or recent results to experienced researchers in the field.
Expert Feedback
Every presentation is followed by structured feedback and open discussion with Resilience Engineering experts.

From Preparation to Workshop Day
1. Online Preparation
Selected participants join online preparation sessions ahead of the workshop.
2. In-Person Workshop Day
Participants meet for a full day of presentations, discussion, and constructive feedback with invited RE experts.
3. Grow Your Research
The goal is not only to highlight strengths, but to identify concrete opportunities to develop each participant’s research further.

The next Young Talents Workshop will be held on the first day of the 12th Biennial REA Symposium, 7–10 June 2027 in Athens, Greece.
