Pedro Ferreira – secretary of REA
Pedro holds a PhD in “Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Management” by the University of Nottingham. He has over 15 years of experience, both as a researcher and a consultant in the field of human factors and ergonomics, and over 5 years in the field of occupational health and safety at work and safety management. He is engaged in the Resilience Engineering community since 2007 and is actively involved in European research under the topic of resilience, in particular within the ongoing secure societies work programme.
Aside from industry consultancy work, he is currently an invited associate professor at the Department of Aeronautics and Transport of the Lusófona University (ULHT), a researcher as a joint professor at CENTEC – Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering of the University of Lisbon and an invited researcher at the CIMCYC – Centro de Investigación Mente, Cerebro y Comportamiento at the University of Granada.

Johan van der Vorm – member of REA Council
Johan van der Vorm is principal consultant at AdviSafe Risk Management was a pioneer in resilience engineering and applied research in the Netherlands. He was a founding father of the Resilience Innovation Lab at TNO. Presently Johan is consultant serving organisations in the field of operational safety and safety culture in a diversity of high risk industries. As project leader he co-developed the serious game Training for Operational Resilience Capabilities (TORC) and is licenced to provide trainings in this field.
As secretary of the REA Board he was responsible for developing the REA network into a professional organisation being supported by internet infrastructure. Johan contributed in several roles to the organisation of the last 3 REA symposia. At present he is member of the REA Council

Gesa Praetorius – Contact for REA Young Talents network
Dr. Gesa Praetorius is a postdoctoral fellow in Maritime Science at the Kalmar Maritime Academy, Linnaeus University, Sweden. She holds an MSc degree in Cognitive Science (Linköping University, Sweden) and a Ph.D. in Shipping and Marine Technology (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden). Gesa is an expert in human factors and system safety with a specific interest in studying resilience in complex socio-technical systems in maritime operations and traffic management systems.
Gesa is a member of the FRAMily and has been a part of the resilience engineering community since her PhD studies. In 2013 Gesa participated in the Young Talent Program and later joined the Young Talents organizing committee and chaired the program in 2016/17.
